G-trac provides a widget which can be used to select a location using a geocoding service, and enables globalization that can be extended to support other geocoding/map services. With the help of Google Maps API plug-in, one can perform a reverse geocoding on a latitude and longitude to output the nearest address.
GIS reverse geotracking is used for vehicle tracking, for location based services and other applications where you have GPS facility with longitude and latitude, and need information about the address or place. By our software you can easily integrate reverse geocoding facility in your system.
How it works?
Reverse geocoding is a technique of returning an approximated street address number as it relates to a given coordinate. For example, a user can click on a road centreline theme (thus providing a coordinate) and have information returned that reflects the estimated house number. This house number is accommodated from a range assigned to that road division. If the user clicks at the borderline of a division that starts with address 1 and ends with 50, the returned value will be somewhere near 25. Do keep in mind that reverse geocoding does not revert actual addresses, but only estimates.
Reverse geocoding turns organize pairs back into genuine locations! This feature is presently available in our G-trac Software Development Kit.
